Day 1: Hobart to Tullah
Travel from the waterside capital of Hobart to Mount Field National Park. At the end of a walk past ferns and streams, you can stand so close to Tasmania’s most loved waterfall that you’ll feel the spray on your face. Later, take the Tall Trees Walk among the world’s tallest flowering plants. Then, heading west to the historic mining town of Tullah, you may even see a wallaby on the shores of Lake St Clair. Overnight: Tullah

Day 2: Tullah to Strahan and back to Tullah
Hike to Tasmania’s highest waterfall, Montezuma Falls, then walk or drive a quad bike over the massive Henty sand dunes. Visit the pretty coastal fishing village of Strahan, then return to Tullah for canoeing on Lake Rosebery, mountain biking or horse riding.

Day 3: Cradle Mountain to Devonport
Today you can explore the northern end of Cradle Mountain – Lake St Clair National Park. On a guided walk around Dove Lake or a challenging guided hike to view Cradle Mountain, you’ll appreciate the qualities that won this landscape World Heritage status. Later in the day, on your way to Devonport, you’ll explore an area of farmland dotted with produce stalls, rural cafes and cheese factories.

Day 4: Devonport to Bicheno
North-east of Tasmania’s second-oldest town, Launceston, is the beautiful Bridestowe Estate Lavender Farm. Here everything smells of lavender – even the boiled lollies and honey. Your journey continues past heritage farms, forests and mining towns until you arrive at the spectacular St Columba Falls. After a short hike, relax in the Pub in the Paddock. Your day ends at the breathtaking Bay of Fires, with a stroll along the pristine white sands or a swim in the sparkling turquoise water (weather permitting).

Day 5: Bicheno to Port Arthur
The day begins with a climb up Mount Amos in Freycinet National Park for fantastic views over Wineglass Bay. If you find the bay irresistible, you can walk between granite peaks to its white sandy beach and azure ocean. Then travel south to the rugged sea cliffs of the Tasman Peninsula for a torchlight Ghost Tour of Port Arthur Historic Site. Overnight: Port Arthur

Day 6: Port Arthur to Hobart
This morning you explore Australia’s most intact and evocative convict heritage, at Port Arthur Historic Site. Later, after a cruise around the harbour, you can observe the astonishing rock formations of Remarkable Cave before returning to Hobart to prepare for your departure.
Travel from Hobart to onward destination.
