The complete opposite of physical exertionTasmania's west coast is the place to go for adventure activities.  The area encompasses one of the world's last temperate rainforests, one of the last wild rivers - the Franklin, and one of the planet's oldest trees - the Huon pine. It truly is one of the last wild places on earth.

But what makes it so exciting is that it is easy to explore: you can fly over it by helicopter, sail into it by yacht or luxury catamaran, ride its rapids by raft, or travel by historic train through its forests.

You want more?  Take a jet boat up the King River, kayak into the heart of the rainforest and camp, or climb on an all-terrain bike and bounce along the west coast dunes.

The World Heritage Area makes up much of the region and its northern boundary is formed by Cradle Mountain's jagged peaks. The two areas are easy to explore so why not plan to immerse yourself in nature?
